Pawsitive Pet Training, LLC. was founded by Dr. Sonja Stell who is commited to improving the lives of people and their four legged companions.

Dr. Sonja Stell is a graduate of the City University of New York where she received her Ph.D. in Psychology sub-specializing in biopsychology, neuropsychology, animal behavior and endocrinology. She is a Canine Behavior Analyst and Counselor (CBAC) board certified by the Animal Behavior Center of New York now affiliated with the American College of Applied Science. She is a member of both the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and the Animal Behavior Society.  

With more than a decade of experience, assessing, training and caring for dogs, Dr. Sonja Stell has developed a highly effective pet training curriculum focused on positive and reward-based techniques. Her methods are geared towards not only modifying or shaping behaviors but also enhancing the bond and relationship between the dog owners and their canine companion.

Dr. Sonja Stell's clientele rave about the impact that her work has on the lives of the dog and their owners. Her client types range from the socialites of the tri-state area to local shelters. In addition to her private practice, she has worked extensively with the Warwick Valley Humane Society to perform behavior and temperament testing of shelter dogs for optimal adoptions.

Dr. Sonja Stell and her husband share their home with their 3-year old son and their two furry kids, Zoe, a shelter mutt and Hudson, a former manhattan havenese socialite.
